Kate's potty trained

Sometimes I laugh about the things I post about. I know most people could careless that Kate's potty trained. But as a mom this is my life, and this is what's important to me and these are the little things in 20 years that I don't want to forget. Yes, Kate is a big girl now she is potty trained. A while back I tried for a day and thought I'm not ready for this and neither is she. This was my second attempt and it went a lot better the second time around. I got this book called "Toilet training in less then a day". I read it and tried to follow it as best I could. She wasn't potty trained in less then a day but by day 4 we weren't having accidents. We have had one here and there but other then that Kate wears her big girl underwear and I'm so excited to enjoy 4 months of no diapers!!

During the holidays Thayne and I decided we wanted to take Kate to see the lights at temple square. She loved them. She kept pointing to all the tree's and saying "Twinkle lights mommy".

I am so behind on posting on this blog I don't even know where to start. To be completely honest I don't even want to start. I just want to leave it and not have to worry about posting ever! To bad I can't let myself do that since this is really the only form of journaling I keep in my life so I am just going to have to go back and catch up. Starting with Christmas which was when we announced being pregnant.

As usual christmas was amazing. I love the holidays and I hate when they end! We did what we always do. Spent Christmas eve with Thayne's family and Christmas day with mine. I love that we split days like that so we aren't rushing all over on Christmas day to see everyone. I love Christmas morning cuz we always do it with just our little family. First we went to church then came home, ate and opened presents around 11:30. Kate enjoyed Christmas more this year since she somewhat understood opening and getting presents. Although it still took a little convincing to get her started. Once we did she didn't want to stop. I think opening presents around 11:30 is going to change here in a few years when Kate really understands its christmas morning. I will enjoy sleeping in until then.

This was when we announced to my family we were pregnant. We put the pictures of my ultra sound in an envelope that said happy anniversary and gave it to my parents since my due date is on their wedding anniversary. My parents were laughing in this picture cuz it looks like my mom is announcing she is pregnant holding my ultra sound pictures.

This is how we announced to Thayne's family we were pregnant. It's really weird but it was Thayne's idea. Every year we choose a theme for christmas to base our presents around. This year it was sports. Thayne decided he would take stuffed animals and remove all the stuffing and fill the animals up with "guts". He took a ziploc bag and blended up top ramen, jam, meat, spaghetti and a bunch of other stuff to put in the bag. Then we put our ultra sound picture inside the ziploc bag with everything else. Then we put the bag inside the stuffed animal and I sewed it up. Thayne got air soft guns and had his mom shoot the stuffed animal. As you can see we chose hunting for our sport. After she hit the target on the animal she had to take a knife cut it open and gut it. Thats when she found a little piece of paper that had our ultra sound picture on it saying we were having a boy. We actually found out that morning what we were having and told the nurse not to tell us and to put the gender in an envelope. So when Becky gutted the animal and found the little paper saying we were having a boy is when we found out too. I have to say even though it was a really interesting way to announce it was a lot of fun watching Becky try and shoot then gut the stuffed animal. Made for some good entertainment.

I almost forgot this was Kate's favorite part of christmas. Each year the cousins draw names and give gifts. This year Avery had Kate and she gave her a box of Jewelry. It took about 2 weeks before Kate would let it out of her site. She loved it! Her favorite gift and it only cost $5. Why do spend money on presents when its the little things that make them happy.

Today I was going through the THOUSANDS of pictures that I have on my computer and getting rid of ones I don't need to clean up some space. As I was going through them I ran across some pictures I took of Thayne and Kate from the little 30th birthday party we had for him after Lake Powell that I had never posted. Kate looks so young in these photos to me. It makes me sad that she already is so different from only 4 months ago.

Remembering Kate

As Kate keeps getting older I feel like I'm not recording enough of her life. I always feel like I'm not taking enough pictures, or videos, or writing in her journal often enough. I haven't even started her 2nd year book for christmas yet. I am getting worse at blogging. There just isn't enough time it feels like to really record her life like I should. Then I start to feeling like a terrible mother and wonder what will happen when I have a second kid. I will have even less time then. If anyone has some tips for me they would be greatly appreciated, because as you can tell I don't have this whole mom thing figured out and probably never will. As for now, instead of constantly worrying about it I thought I might as well write down a few of those things that I love about Kate right here and now.....

Dancing - this is one of those things I need to get on video. Kate LOVES to dance. When I say that she LOVES to dance that really is an understatement. Almost everyone morning Kate will wake up and say "Kate dance with dolphin and whale?" She watches this movie called "The Dolphin" and when the music comes on she lights right up and starts showing her moves. The other song she loves to dance to is the one at the end of Free Willy with Michael Jackson singing. I can't wait to get her in a dance class.
Getting dressed - this is a stage I need to really learn to enjoy but I kind of secretly hope it gets over quickly. She always has to pick out her own clothes. Its this big ordeal everyday about getting dressed. All she wants to wear is her elmo slippers (with holes in them) and her elephant shirt and elephant pants which are her pj's. I used to fight her on wearing what I wanted her to wear. I of course want her to wear the cute clothes I buy for her. I have finally given up and I let her pick out her own clothes now whether they are pj's or not she usually gets to wear what she wants unless its too cold to wear it. I have come to realize some fights aren't worth it. Plus Thayne always thinks she looks cuter when she dresses herself. She might look back one day when she is older and wonder why I let her wear those clothes but I love that it shows the stage she is at right now and that spunky personality of her.
Minnie Mouse - Kate is obsessed with Minnie Mouse. Thayne asked her today if Minnie was her best friend and she simply replied "Yep". She drags Minnie wherever we go. I made the mistake of leaving Minnie at a cousins house one night. Kate didn't fall asleep till 3 in the morning so I finally had to give her Benadryl to fall asleep. I should have just gone and got Minnie.

Sensitive - Kate can't be the sweetest little girl in the world. She also can be pretty feisty too. Most of the time she is sweet though. Whenever I'm crying she is always so concerned and runs over and ask if I want a "big hug" and "kisses" I of course can't turn those down. She gives me her big hug and kisses then says "ALL BETTER". If I don't stop crying she will ask "mommy sad?" and pat me on the back. A lot of times Thayne will just pretend to be sad so he can get lots of hugs and kisses from her. She is always so worried if others are hurting. I hope she always stays sensitive. I know sometimes super sensitive people can be annoying, but I rather her be to sensitive then not at all.
Prayers - This is probably my favorite thing Kate is doing right now. She is so good at saying her own prayers before bed every night and they are the sweetest little things. Of course I go to record one and 2 seconds into its tells me the battery is exhausted. She always starts by saying "Father thank you for, daddy, mommy, Hunter, and Kate. Thank you for 4,5,6,7,9, 10." I have no idea why she always prays for these numbers but they must be important to her. After that she usually rambles for a minutes or so and she speaks in this really high sweet voice that no one can understand except she knows exactly what she saying. Then she ends "In name Jesus Christ Aaaaaamen". She stands up at the end so proud of herself waiting for us to praise her and tell her what an awesome job she did. I have to get one of her prayers on camera before she gets older and they start to change.

These are just a few of the things I love about Kate right now. I have been blessed with such a wonderful happy little girl. Hopefully terrible 2's just never get to her. Although I keep hearing its really terrible 3's so we'll see.

This year Halloween was definitely more fun then last year. We were able to go to the mall and take Kate to all the stores to get candy. Last year she didn't really get the whole trick or treating thing. At first she was hesitant as to why everyone was just giving her candy. She got used to that real quick. After tricking treating at the mall with my parents we went out to eat. If you ever want to eat out and get your food fast go on Halloween night. NO ONE is at the restaurant. We have been working on potty training with Kate. She did good the first day and then did bad for like 3 days after that then the other day she had 4 accidents and I thought for sure she wasn't ready. Not to soon after she decided to go pee in the potty. I was so excited! Then about an hour after that I told Kate we were going to take a nap and she needed to go potty. She said "Mom, Kate go poo poo". I thought ya right. She sat down and went poop! I was freaking out I called my mom, mother in law, sister in law and of course Thayne. I couldn't believe it! Lets hope she keeps it up.

Madison came over the other day and they wanted to go potty at the same time.

Not only do I get to clean up the "accidents" I get to clean up lots of toilet paper as well. Ever since we started potty training Kate loves to unroll the toilet paper.

Colton's Blessing

My sisters cute little boy Colton was blessed this last weekend. Kate had so much fun playing with her cousins. Wished Ryan lived closer so they could play more. While I was there I did a little photo shoot and got some pictures of Colton. I was so surprised how well he did. He was already a month old! Most babies you do pictures when they are 4-10 days old. I definitely lucked out. He was sleepy.

Florida, Bahamas and Key West

Thayne was in between jobs a few weeks ago so we decided we would go on a vacation before he started his new job. We went on a 9 day vacation to florida and the bahamas with just the two of us. It was so nice!! I missed Kate like crazy but I loved having alone time with Thayne. I think this is going to be tradition!

O ya this is our sweet rental car. Ha this car only held 9 gallons of gas. I didn't even know that was legal. Plus it randomly stopped while we were driving it. That was freaky. Thayne and I kept laughing at how ghetto this car was. It only had 10,000 miles on it and we were pretty sure it was going to break down on us any second. Every time we got in we just started laughing. We figured we should get some "cool" pictures in front of our "sweet" ride.

Every once in a while when I'm on the computer I start too look back through old pictures. I was looking at some of Kate when she was just a few months old and it made me sad to think that I couldn't even remember her being that tiny. Now she isn't a baby anymore she is a little girl.

Over the 24th of July we went to the Carnival with some of our friends and their cute little boy Kingston. Thayne always asks Kate if Kingston is her boyfriend. Kate always gets this shy look on her face and then shakes her head yes. The other day he was in the car with us and kept trying to hold her hand. Kate kept getting mad at him and saying "NO". Then Kingston would try again. I asked King in the car if he was cute and he said "No Kate cute". I love watching the two of them together. I secretly hope they get married one day:)

Bear Lake

Thayne's family all went up to Bear Lake over 4th of July weekend. His parents got this amazing cabin for us to stay in. Last time we went to Bear Lake Kate was only a few months old so she couldn't really enjoy it. This time she had so much fun playing in the sand with her cousin and being on "pa pas boat".

We already did a small birthday celebration for Kate while we were in Oregon for a family reunion. We couldn't pack all the presents in our car so when we got back we celebrated again with Thaynes parents. I was sad I had a photo shoot that night so I had to be quick but her daddy and grandparents spoiled her while I was gone.

Sometimes I still can't believe my little girls is two! I love this age. Kate is such a talkative spunky little girl. She always has something to say. She is super sensitive and I love knowing that she cares about how other people feel even at a young age. Every time someone will cry or pretend to cry Kate turns on the waterworks. She gets so sad if you're crying. She loves her cousins and grandparents more then anything. She is always asking where they are. Thayne and I are terrible at getting Kate to bed at a decent hour. She will sometimes stay up till midnight with us. I love the nights she is up late with us and we get to just cuddle on the couch and watch tv together. One of my all time favorite things about Kate right now, is every single time you turn on music or if she hears as we are walking through the store she will start dancing. She loves music! Sometimes I come home and Thayne and Kate will be having little dance parties in our living room. I love you more than anything Kate! I'm really going to miss this age.

Oregon family reunion

Every few years we go to Oregon for a family reunion. It was my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary this time so we got to celebrate that and Kate had her 2nd birthday while we were there. We just did something small to celebrate. There was no way I was going to try and pack all her presents in our little car. I ended up bringing a few small ones to give her something to open. We had a little birthday party for her with Thayne's parents when we got home so she got to celebrate twice.

I told Thayne a while back that we should get Kate a little potty to see if she would show any interest. She definitely shows interest no problem. She has been showing interest for about 3-4 weeks now. She wants to go potty every time I change her diaper. She tells me "Kate go potty, Kate go potty?" I let her go and sit on the potty every time she asks. Only problem is she sits there for about 5 seconds then says all done, then lays on the ground and has me put her diaper on. The first few times she ever did it she sat for about 3-4 minutes. Now it just gets less and less and it's just a game now. How do I get her to understand to actually go in the potty? She has never gone once. She just sits there and smiles feeling all grown about herself. I love it, but I would really love her to smile and pee at the same time:)

Kate was bored one day and was walking around the house trying to find something she could get into and she found Hunters food. She did exactly what she saw mommy and daddy do with Hunters food. Take the cup fill it up with food and put it in his bowl. She just got little carried away with it. Need less to say Hunter had plenty to eat that day.

Weekend in St. George

A couple weeks ago we went to St. George with 4 other friends and their families. It was a fun little getaway. We ate lots of yummy food, went hot tubbing, swimming, played at the park, and of course did a little shopping and a movie on the side.

Every weekend Thayne still surprises me with "Date cards". Read my post "Valentines lasted till my birthday" if your confused by "Date cards". Anyways this weekend Kate got to go on our date with us. It was such a fun date to have her there. She loved it!! We went out to eat then to Hollywood connection. Thayne isn't much of a rides person so I took Kate and a few and come to find out she didn't love them so much after a while either. She loved the merry go round the first time we did it and that was about it. Then we did miniature golf. Who would have thought carry around a golf ball and club would make a child so happy. She didn't' want to hit the ball with her club just carry it around. Thayne and I would hit our balls into the hole she would walk over and drop hers in too. It was so fun to have her along.

Thayne was uploading some new music for the gym and Kate wanted to listen to it. She thought it was the coolest thing. She seemed mesmerized by it. She just stood there and listened to it for a while doing nothing, just holding perfectly still. Then every once in a while she would start bustin a move ha. It was so cute to watch. Then she went in my room early that day and found one of my hats and put it on. By the end of the day I thought I had a little gangster in my house:)

Aquarium

Every week Kate and I try to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. She absolutely loves it and its the perfect break for me to get out of the house with her. I love having a pass there. I feel like I can go as often or a little as I want and I don't have to stay very long if I don't have time. A pass for a whole year was $23 dollars. Since Kate is still under 3 she is free! We love going with our little friends. Then mommy gets play time too:)

An attempt to feed the ducks...

Me and my friend decided it would be fun to take our kiddies to the daybreak beach to feed the ducks. We both happen to be procrastinators and it usually takes us a little longer to get together when we plan something. By the time we both were ready to go feed the ducks, the weather turned terrible on us. We still tried to go and it ended up being quite the experience. Mindi's little boy decided he wanted to get in the water so his shoes and pants were soaked. The wind was blowing like crazy! Kate hated the sand. I think she was thinking "what the heck is this stuff and why is it so hard to walk!?" 2 whole ducks showed up. The kids kept trying to feed them but ended up scaring them away. Both of us just couldn't stop laughing because only things like that happen when we get together, which means we always have a good time!!

This year Thayne and I took Kate to the "blue and white" game is what I think they call it. Where BYU plays each other. I figured it would be good to see how she would do at a game like this before I decide to take her to a real game. Surprisingly with it raining and freezing cold outside she did really well. She kept pointing to the field and saying "football". Then I will ask her what daddy says and she will say "Goooooo cookgars". We had a lot of fun cuddling up in the rain together and eating "shishy's"(gold fish).

Valentines lasted till my birthday!!

Once AGAIN!! I don't even know where to begin with this blogging stuff. I get so far behind I hate even thinking about starting to blog again. Any who, I have to brag about the most amazing husband in the world. Yes, that husband just so happens to be mine:) For Valentines day he surprised me with his own version of "The Bachelor"! He surprised me with an invite to be on "the show" and then every weekend till my birthday he would give me date cards and he would surprise me with fabulous date nights!! If he "liked" me after each date he would give me a candy bar with a rose. I told him he better like me;)

Here are what each date card said, and what we ended up doing for each date....

Date #1- "Clip on your wings and lets glide our way to love" That night he took me to dinner at the "wing" coop, cuz I LOVE their wings. The "glide" part of the card was because we went ice skating.

Date #2- "Finding love can be a pain in the ***..." That night we went snowboarding at brighton. He said it can be a pain in the "***" cuz last time we went snowboarding he fell the whole time (that was the night he asked me to marry him:). This time he hardly fell at all and ended up loving snowboarding, Yay! Then we went to pizza factory after, which was where we ate a lot when we were dating.

Date #3- "Vamos Gritar para o Inicio de Nossas Pulmoes Como o Nosso Amor Atinge Novas Alturas. Como Amor, Thayne" I had to figure out how to translate this one on my own. It says "We will scream at the top of our lungs as our love reaches new heights!! With love Thayne. That day we went to Tucanos for dinner and thats why the writing was in portuguese because its a brazilian restaurant. Then we were going to go to the BYU game to "scream at the top of our lungs" but it was all sold out. So we went to "reach new heights" and went rock climbing!

Date #4- "Finding love can be very tiring, but extremely worth it..." That night we went to red robin for dinner then went sledding on tubes in midway. Thats why he said love can be "tiring" for the tubes.

Date#5- (My birthday date!) "Happy birthday!!! Finding love can cure all pain....Limitless is our goal!! For this date we went and got couples massages, that "cured all pain". Those were AMAZING AHHH! If you have never gotten one, you need to! Then we went to dinner at Johnny Carinos and then for "Limitless is our goal" we went and saw the movie "Limitless" I love Thayne so much and I love how he is always making our marriage so fun. I love how he gets so excited to still surprise me all the time and make me feel special, even after being married 4 years. After that we went home atE my favorite... coldstone mint and oreo cream icecream mixed with brownies and more oreos. So GOOD! Then opened present.

To top it off after my birthday he surprised me and said bachelor dates aren't over! He still gives me date cards on the weekends. I love looking forward to waking up and finding a date card hidden somewhere in our house.

For Kates Valentines daddy brought her home treats, ballons, and some blocks. She wasn't so sure about the balloons, but she loved her blocks.

Superbowl

For the superbowl this year we invited some friends over to our house. It turned out to be quite the party. My friends daughters convinced some of us to dance and sing the Katy Perry song "Firework". Even the babies got in on the action!

A nice day...finally!

It was such a nice day a few weeks ago, so Kate and I decide to go outside. I can't wait for summer to come and be able to go outside all the time with no coats and enjoy warm weather.

Every night we have a routine with Kate. We get her in jammies, brush her teeth, read a story and say our prayers together. We have been teaching her to fold her arms during prayers, and have been practicing saying them with her. She will repeats parts of the prayer with us. We say "thank you for mommy and daddy" and she will repeat mommy and daddy, then when will say thank you for our eyes, and nose and so forth and she will point to her eyes and her nose. I love being able to teach her and watch her learn so quickly. I look back through pictures sometimes and I can't believe how quickly she is growing up. Sometimes it just makes me sad that she is getting old so quickly. I was telling a friend the other day, it seems like after you have kids time goes by so much quicker:(

The Sohm's have a theme every year for christmas that we have to base our presents around. This year it was "game show". We did it the next Wednesday after Christmas so we could get babysitters for all our kids. It gets a little hard with 12 of them running around. Things got a little crazy I must say. Some people got pretty creative with their games.

Some days Kate just doesn't want to play with any of her toys. Those are the days that mom has to give a little extra attention when the toys just aren't cutting it. Sometimes it's hard when I am trying to get things done and your child is hanging on your leg for attention. Here is the solution go to your kitchen and grab anything (that won't harm your child of course) put it on the ground and guess what? Brand new toy that is better then any of those fisher price toys we spend all our money on. Problem solved!! All you moms that haven already thought of this are going to thank me:)

Lights at Temple square

While my parents were here visiting, we went to see the lights at temple square. We are sometimes really bad at getting out of our house in the winter, since we are not winter people. So we got bundled up and braved the cold! I love the lights at temple square. It amazes me how many they put up. I can't even imagine all the work it takes.

After, we went inside the visitors center to see the statue of Christ. We got to the top and Kate grabbed Thaynes hand and walked him to the statue of Christ and pointed and said "Jesus". It's moments like these that you realize there is nothing greater in the world then being a parent.

I still have one more christmas post after this one. A lot goes on during the holidays! I am trying to get caught up on all my blogging. I am so sick of having it in the back of my mind. I really just need to keep up on it instead of doing a bunch at once, and spending almost an entire day doing it. If I just did one a week I wouldn't have this problem, but no I am a procrastinator and procrastinators just don't do things like that:) I only do this because it's my only journal, and obviously someone that procrastinates all the time probably doesn't do a personal journal in their spare time. So this my cop out for a journal. Now that would explain why I am posting everything a month or so later then it happened. Now onto the Sunday family christmas. The best thing about the Holidays to me besides all the good food... is the time you get to spend with family. Having Thayne off work for a few days and just being able to spend together. I get to look forward to seeing Thayne almost everyday for lunch, then right after work, and most of the time I don't have to share him with anyone else. I know the older we get and the more kids we have things are going to change, but right now I am just trying to enjoy every moment I get to be with my family right now.

Since my parents are living in Idaho now we celebrated the family Christmas party at my sisters house and had the family come there. It was nice to have them come down and be able to spend part of christmas with us.

Christmas is amazing every year, but this year it was even better! It was Kate's first real Christmas. Last year she didn't really understand what was going on. This year she still didn't really get it, but it least she could get excited to open presents. This year I read Kate the Christmas story from a book my mom gave me. It's a child's version, and when I point to the baby Jesus she would point to Jesus and say "baby" then when I tell her thats baby Jesus, she then pointed at him again and would say "Jesus". It's amazing to see how much she really understands at such a young age. I love having such a precious little girl to wake up to and amazing husband to spend Christmas with. I love my little family!!

Sohm family nativity

The last few christmases we have had all the nieces and nephews on the Sohm family side, do a nativity scene for Christmas. There are so many nieces and nephews that it isn't hard to give everyone a part. I love seeing the kids all dressed up.

Christmas Miracle?!

This year we were really slacking in the christmas tree department. We went to Vegas and St. George for five days the week before christmas, and figured why put up a tree while we are gone. We did want to have a tree on Christmas day for Kate, so Thayne came up with an idea. He likes to call it the Christmas miracle. We live across the street from his parents and they happen to have 3 fake christmas trees in their driveway for decoration. Thayne thought it would be a great idea to just take one and see if they would notice. Well... they never noticed until christmas eve when Thayne wrote a story about this amazing Christmas miracle for his dad to read to the family. This is the story he wrote.....

THE CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

A long time ago a sweet little family was struggling to find the Christmas spirit. Due to financial problems the Father had very little and was struggling to provide Christmas for his family. He knew that year they wouldn’t have many presents but for what little they had he wanted to be able to put them under a tree. He shopped for along time to find a Christmas tree to brighten the spirits of his family, but all the trees were too expensive. He would lay awake at night hoping that somehow he could find a way to get a tree even if it were a small one. One day he did the unthinkable but knew that the small sacrifice of one family would richly bless another. This young father borrowed a small tree from a loving neighbor and brought it home. The family’s spirits brightened and couldn’t believe the little miracle that happened that cold winter day. They decorated the tree and gave thanks to that special neighbor who allowed for this Christmas Miracle.

Madison is Kates closest cousin in age to her. My sister in law called and asked if I could watch her for a little bit the other day. I would gladly watch her anytime. Idaho Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we got to go to Idaho to celebrate. I was so excited to be traveling somewhere for the holiday. My parents just moved there a few months ago so we all decided to go down there. I loved that all of the family got to be together and have nothing else to worry about. We all went to black friday sales and my parents watched the kiddies for us. Every Thanksgiving with my side of the family, we make pies and soup the night before so we can actually enjoy our pies instead of stuffing them in after Thanksgiving dinner. We of course still end up eating pie the next night too. Its more of an excuse I guess:)

Everyone always carves a pumpkin with their kid on Halloween, well..... I bought the pumpkin but we never did anything with it. It is still sitting outside our door, with no knife marks, or a cute face carved into it. Poor Kate didn't get to carve a pumpkin this year but she did get to make cookies and eat the frosting out of the bowl, which I think is way better then carving a pumpkin if you ask me. You are probably wondering what her cute little costume is. Honestly, I don't really know! I got it at Old navy last year for 2 bucks for their after Halloween sale. I told some people she was a fairy, or a butterfly, in the end we decided she was some kind of bug with wings. Whatever she was, she was freakin cute! Poor Hunter got stuck in Kate's cheerleading outfit:)

Here are some pictures of Kate from the last few months. She is definitely a girl with lots of attitude and personality, as you can tell in some of these pictures. She likes walking around the house with glasses on her head. She never stops talking. She is constantly having a conversation with her self. It always starts with some jibber jabber that I have no idea what she is saying, and then ends in ba ba. The only time she won't talk is if she doesn't know you. She will not say a word, and she will keep her eye on you until she gets comfortable. This little girl makes me the happiest mommy ever!!! Not only is she always talking, but she is always smiling too. It doesn't take much to make her giggle. She is just an all around happy kid! I got so lucky. Now hopefully all my kids will be like her.

I am so behind on blogging. I do this about every few months where I never update my blog then I have to play catch up. My friends and I had a girls night out at Olive Garden and if I remember right we were there for almost 3 hours!! Everyone was getting to know us really well:) Helping us take pictures, watching us be weird. What is about getting together with a bunch of girls late that makes you do things you wouldn't normally do or say. Whatever it is I love it, makes for some good memories.

I really feel so lucky to be the mom to this gorgeous little girl. She is what makes me want to wake up everyday and be a better person. I could not have been more blessed with a happier little girl. Kate constantly has a smile on her face as she runs around the house screaming at the top of her lungs in excitement. I am going to miss the days when she isn’t clinging onto my legs, or reaching out to me wanting me rock her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Kate I love you! Today we were sitting around the house and I decided I wanted to go get pictures of her just for fun. You will notice in some of the pictures she gets her “fishy face”. That is totally her signature look! She has been doing that since she was probably 8 months old or younger. I hope to never forget that precious face or her toothy grin. I feel like all these moments are just passing me by. I just want to soak in everything I can before its to late. Not only do I love photography but I love being able to use it to capture those special moments in my own families life. I think pictures say it all. I think looking at these pictures of Kate you will be able to get a glimpse of what I get to live with everyday. And yes... you should be jealous:)

I have a funny, yet kind of embarrassing story about this craft project I did. I found this old window that I wanted to fix up and put in my house. My cute husband being the amazing person he is always helps me. Poor guy! Anyways I was sanding down the paint and cleaning it up then repainted it. All was going well, until I decided it was ready to put the vinyl on it. Before Thayne and I even started to do it he was like "I'm scared". Of course I'm thinking "Why are you scared?" "Because if it doesn't go on right you are not going to be very happy". Me in my head am thinking ya right its going to be fine. He knows me all to well. We take the the vinyl off the sticker and at last minute I panic and want to make sure I'm putting it on straight. Well maybe Nicole should have thought about that before she took the vinyl off the sticker. What an idiot! I am trying to measure it as Thayne and I are both holding onto the vinyl so it doesn't stick to the window before I'm ready. Thayne was in an awkward position and kind of dropped it. I try to lift up my side to get it off and I DROP IT!! Ahhh here comes crazy Nicole! I start freaking out say a few choice words and my poor husband is thinking I knew I had a good reason to be scared. He is trying to calm me down saying its okay we can fix it. I'm practically screaming saying its ruined lets just throw it out I hate it. Going on and on like its the end of the world. Thayne looking at me like he probably should leave now. I throw the window in the closet shaking and won't talk for about 30 minutes. Thayne goes into the other room as far away from his nutso (is that even a word) wife as he can. After 30 minutes of cooling down and realizing how retarded I was acting I got the frame out secretly so Thayne didn't think o my heck I thought you wanted to throw it away and now you want to fix it. Ya I'm kind of stubborn:) Of course it was a pretty easy fix. I moved a few letters around and bada bing bada boom it was saved! Phew!!! All that throwing a fit and scaring my husband away from me was pretty much for nothing. Good things he knows me so well that he was prepared a head of time for me to go psycho on him. Love you sweetie, hopefully we don't have many more of those encounters. Now that you have heard the story behind this craft here is the finished project!

About a month ago we moved from our house in Eagle mountain. It was such a wonderful place to live for the 1st 3 1/2 years that Thayne and I were married. We met so many amazing people there and loved our ward so much. We actually have been wanting to move for a while just due to the location. We really wanted to be closer to Thaynes work and to family. It was really hard when we actually moved to leave all our friends and neighbors, but living in South Jordan has been such a great place for us. I am just going to have to make an extra effort to go and visit friends and keep in touch. I will miss that house but I am excited for all the new things to come. Thank you to all my neighbors and friends for all your help!

The other day while I was cleaning the house, Kate had out her little car. She was trying forever to sit on it and just couldn't get on. She kept loosing her balance and would fall off. This post is really late but what the heck. A while back Thaynes parents took us to Vegas to go see the show "O". I have never seen anything like it! It was amazing!! We went to the pool during the day then went to the show that night and of COURSE ate lots of food then we did a temple session while we were there. I have never been to the Vegas temple. When we got there they were not prepared for a group as big as us. Which is a lot different then going to a temple in Utah. It was really neat being able to go with the entire family.

Every year we go to Lake Powell, but this year we had a new boat to take to Lake Powell. When I say "we" that means Thayne's dad had a new boat:) Lake Powell of course was awesome! Lots of food, relaxing and more food. If you're wondering why there is a shortage of Kate pictures, it's because we didn't take her this year. I was worried it would be way to hot for her to be on the boat all day. Hopefully next year she will be coming.

I can't believe my little girl is already 1. She has been such a good baby. I am going to cross my fingers and hope my next one is as good as her. She loved her birthday party. Especially all the attention she has been getting from everyone. I don't know if you can really tell in the pictures but all the cousins were surrounding her the whole time while she was opening presents. They wanted to help her with everything! I love knowing she is going to grow up being close to her cousins. She loved opening her presents, and of course eating her cake was the best part. If anyone knows Kate, they know she loves to eat! This was such a fun vacation! It involved lots of shopping, hanging out at the pool and eating out! This is our favorite way to pass the time when we are together. It was our 3 year anniversary on the 10th this month. I cannot believe I have been married to the most wonderful man for the last 3 years and now I have the cutest little girl ever. To celebrate Thayne surprised me with a 4 day trip to St. George! He also treated me to a fun birthday! I never got around to posting about it, so I just have to say that Thayne treats me so good and always has the best surprises! Thanks babe for the wonderful birthday, mothers day and anniversary!! I am just lovin this weather lately!! I love being able to get out of the house. A couple weeks ago me and some neighbors decided to take the kiddies to the park. Kate just hung out and loved watching the other kids. By the time we got home she was out and took a nice long nap!

Ok, so really I usually do not get hurt this much I promise! Last night Thayne was making Kate laugh really hard and I was on the phone to his mom. He kept telling me to come over and put the phone by her mouth so his mom could hear her laughing. While as I was bending down to put the phone by Kate's mouth Thayne jerked his head up and it landing right in my face. All I can do is laugh at how pathetic I look. Thayne says someone is going to call the cops on him for abuse which I think would be really funny, but no Thayne isn't abusing me:)

I do not have the most beautiful feet so no judging:) Last week I was playing basketball and this is what happened. I sprained my ankle:( I really think this might have hurt more then labor. Of course I had an epidural so I don't know what labor pain "really" feels like but I do know this hurt REALLY bad. I thought I had broken it so Thayne took me to the emergency room at 10:30 at night and we got home at 1:30 in the morning. It was definitely an eventful night! I stayed off it for a few days and then started gimping around. Here are some pictures of it. O ya I sprained it as I was going up to dunk the ball!:) I wish! I really just stepped wrong as I was going for the ball but I think I will stick with my other story.

Ok so I went to make myself some toast and when I came back Kate had pulled herself up and was standing for the very first time. Ahh I am such a proud mom!!! This only happened like 10 minutes ago so you should feel special that you are living in the moment with me!:)

In about 1 more week Kate is going to be 9 months old! I cannot believe how fast she is growing up. It so bitter sweet for me:( Here are some things Kate is doing now....

Her HAIR IS FINALLY LONG ENOUGH TO PUT UP (sorry I had to yell I was so excited)! I can't wait till the day I can curl her hair, braid it, put it in a pony tail you name it I can't wait to do more things to her hair! Ahh anyways moving on....
She has gotten the army crawl down
Huge belly laugh
Feeds herself little puffs (she got the finger pinching motion down)
Eats her feet
We think she says ma ma and da da she probably isn't, but I like to think she is:)
Loves to clap her hands
Just starting to give kisses
Holds herself up on the couch
Rolls EVERYWHERE
Loves listening to herself click her tongue
I think she is the best sleeper ever (lucky me hopefully the next one is like that)
Walks while we hold her hands
Huge talker just blabs and blabs and blabs and I love listening to it!!
And of course I can't forget I think her favorite past time is eating and shopping

O and did I mention she already knows how to use the computer;)

Is she seriously letting Kate suck on Hunters bone!?! I know it is gross but I just had to get a picture of it. Hunters bones usually are laying around the house and whenever Kate gets really quiet this is what I have find her doing. For some reason she just loves his bones. She actually just started really crawling about 4 days ago and this is what she wants to crawl for!! Everytime I look at these pictures I just have to laugh.

They are just best buds and love the same things I guess!

Ok, so first off I hate when people always are talking about themselves so I hope I don't come across as one of those people. But I had to pat myself on the back because I finally lost all the baby weight and more from after having Kate. I would say how much I lost but then you might start getting ideas in your head on how much I weigh so I am just going to say I am back at my normal weight! HOORAY!! Ok, I'm done now:)
